Julie-ann Lucas (Bradley)
Julie-Ann is the Principal of the school and full-time teacher. Julie-ann established her studio in 1990. She holds qualifications in C.S.T.D. (Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dance) and R.A.D. (Royal Academy of Dance).
Julie-ann is supported by a fantastic group of passionate teachers, many of whom are past students themselves. Our teachers are all experienced dancers/singers/performers with various qualifications and personal achievements. Listed below in alphabetical order
Carolyn is a Life Member of the Royal Academy of Dance. As an examiner for the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing, she has examined extensively throughout Australia, plus internationally in Singapore, England, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia and India.
Cherie has trained in all styles of performance and is a certified teacher in CSTD Jazz. Cherie has had extensive experience in performing with highlights working on Cruise Liners, Movie World, Musical Productions such as Les Miserables & Wizard Of Oz. Cherie brings lots of energy to her classes.
Connor started dancing from a young age in all genres of dance. Whilst studying at school Connor completed his Certificate III in Dance, CSTD Jazz Teachers Certificate, CSTD Level 4 Contemporary and RAD Advanced 2 Ballet. After finishing school he moved to Sydney and completed his Certificate IV in Dance at Ev & Bow. Connor has worked with various cruise lines including Celebrity Cruises & Holland America Cruise Line.
Greta spent 3 years as a Moulin Rouge dancer in Paris, often performing as a replacement soloist, and appearing on International television events. She also modeled in various Paris Fashion Week shows. At the beginning of 2020 she started a contract with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines on the Ovation of the Seas. Greta has an Associate Degree in Dance Performance from QUT and her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies from the RAD.
Hayley has entertained internationally for over 12 years. She has appeared in many musicals, with a lead role in the Broadway production of A Chorus line and danced with Ricki Lee Coulter, Kate Cebrano to name a few. She has worked as a vocalist for The Squared Division, toured and recorded with James Reyne, and sung lead in bands around Melbourne’s most iconic venues. Hayley is also a qualified yoga instructor.
Jessica has been dancing for 11 years, primarily Hip Hop. She has represented Australia four times at Hip Hop International Dance Championships in the USA, Arena Singapore. She holds many titles in National and International Hip Hop competitions. Jessica is also an experienced performer having toured with Justice Crew and performed with the cast of So You Think You Can Dance at various corporate events.
Kelly spent two decades in the entertainment industry as a dancer and singer, travelling the UK and Japan, in a variety of cabaret acts, musical tribute shows, and working as a lead vocalist with rock bands and jazz trios. She now works in primary school education and has published two junior fiction novels.
Owain has been dancing all his life and made his way to JAL Dance as a student in 2010. He completed the RAW Dance company’s Full-Time program in 2015 and has worked as a professional dancer since. Owain has toured with Raw Metal, Untapped and many other companies though Australia and overseas.
Sophie has grown up dancing at JAL and now teaches here in a multitude of different genres. She has completed a Diploma in musical theatre, the CSTD Jazz Teachers diploma and has choreographed for multiple schools across Queensland. She has performed with Timomatic and also sang in front of the royal family as part of the 100th anniversary Gallipoli choir in Turkey. She is now currently in her final year at QUT studying podiatry.
